Traffic is at a standtstill across much of Perth, with accidents and breakdowns causing havoc.

There are big delays in North Perth, with a minor crash on the corner of Charles Street and Hobart Road causing tailbacks into the city.

Police said that no one was seriously injured but to drive with care in the area.

Motorists have been warned to drive with caution on Kwinana Freeway southbound after Roe Highway in Jandakot after a vehicle hit a ladder on the road.

The left emergency lane has been closed because of debris and authorities are onsite.

A crash on Canning Highway westbound at South Terrace in Como has reduced traffic to a single lane, while a breakdown on Orrong Road at Roberts Road in Carlisle has blocked the left lane.

Traffic is heavy and is banked up to Oats Street.

An accident on Kwinana Freeway northbound before Mortimer Road in Wellard has closed the emergency lane and traffic is slow on approach.

There has also been a breakdown on Kwinana Freeway before South Street in Bull Creek, which is slowing traffic.

A crash on Leach Highway in Bentley has been cleared and traffic is easing.
