Perth traffic: Heavy congestion for sections of Kwinana freeway southbound ahead of Labour Day long weekend
People travelling south this long weekend have been reminded to “be patient” as heavy congestion builds on Kwinana Freeway.
Main Roads posted an announcement alerting drivers to the increased traffic on Friday afternoon.
They stated there was “heavy congestion” for sections of the Freeway in the southbound direction as a result of the Labour Day long weekend.
“Increased traffic volumes are expected on metro and regional roads,” a Main Roads spokesperson said.
“Allow extra travel time, especially if you’re going away.
“Please drive safely, be patient and pay attention.”
Heavy traffic is not the only thing West Australians should look out for this long weekend.
WA police have reminded drivers double demerits are in place from today until midnight on Monday 3 March.
“Take this as your reminder to be safe, responsible and look out for each other when you’re on the roads,” they said.
