Round four of the Broome Soccer Association 11-a-side competition threw up end-to-end encounters, with 15 goals scored over four exciting games.

In the early men and women’s fixtures, Pearlers and Racing Guantanamo went head-to-head.

In the men’s clash, a solitary Sean Minouge goal decided the game in Pearlers’ favour, with their 1-0 win moving the team in white to the top of the table.

The victorious side unveiled a number of new signings and now must be considered as one of the frontrunners.

Guantanamo had plenty of chances to equalise and will feel that luck has not been on their side over the last couple of weeks. Daniel Sajun was awarded the man of the match despite ending up on the losing side.

In the men’s game, a youthful City outfit were good value for their 3-1 win over defending champions Meatworks, who had an off day.

Following an early City goal, the scores were levelled at 1-1 as a Meatworks central midfielder broke forward to convert an unstoppable bullet header.

However, with City centre-half and man of the match Curtis Hughes rallying his team, goals from Alex Christoudias and a last-gasp Raph Michael free-kick gave the men in blue victory.

In the women’s game, Meatworks got back on track with a commanding 4-2 triumph.

Monica Sullivan was her team’s hero with a well-taken hat-trick, while Skye Jamieson put in valiant performance in defeat for City.
