Nicola KalmarBroome Advertiser

Acclaimed Australian author Di Morrissey will discuss her latest book with a Broome audience during a guest appearance at this year's Corrugated Lines: A Festival of Words.

The Tears of the Moon novelist will be in conversation with Wendy Albert at a high tea event at the Kimberley Sands Resort and Spa.

Morrissey is one of a number of guests featuring in this year's line-up including WA fiction writer Deb Fitzpatrick, artist Stephen Eastaugh and playwright Mari Lourey.

Now celebrating its fourth chapter, Corrugated Lines has diverse offerings of inspirational talks, community workshops, authors in conversation and live performances.

Co-ordinated by Backroom Press, the event is held over three days.

Corrugated Lines spokeswoman Sudha Coutinho said this year's festival had a really varied look, from successful stalwarts such as Word of Mouth, to new and exciting additions including the Saltwater Songwriters Music Festival, featuring top Kimberley performers Steve Pigram, Olive Knight and Albert Wiggan.

Broome's own T.A.G. Hungerford Award-winners Jacqueline Wright and Madelaine Dickie will share their inspiration, passion and literary journeys in conversation with ABC Kimberley's Vanessa Mills.

A host of community events have been organised, including a free poetry workshop, an insight into journaling, screenwriting sessions and a series of art classes called Pride, Mischief and Murder.

Youngsters and families will also be able to participate in fun activities, including the children's book garden event and jumbo Scrabble.

Ms Coutinho said it was exciting to be able to host the event again for the town.

Corrugated Lines will be held from August 7-9.
