Body found in bushland near Broome

Major Crime detectives are flying to Broome this afternoon after the body of a man was discovered in bushland near Coconut Well, about 10km north of the town.

Police were alerted late yesterday.

The cause of death has not been ascertained and the remains are understood to have been at the location for some time.

The body has not yet been formally identified by police.

A police spokesman said the matter would be re-assessed tomorrow TUE afternoon.

Coconut Well is a small rural subdivision within the Shire of Broome.
