Broome lotto winners come forward

A couple from Broome have finally come forward to claim their $2 million Division 1 prize from the Saturday Lotto Superdraw three weeks ago.

The couple hit the jackpot after purchasing their ticket from their local retailer, Broome Lottery Centre and News.

It was the second Division 1 ticket sold in Broome in just five months.

The couple said they had been in disbelief since learning of the news and said the win was completely "out of the blue".

"You always hope you'll win but honestly we just never thought it would happen to us," the couple said.

"We checked our ticket more than 20 times because we just didn't think it was real. There were screams, hugs and tears of joy."

Spending plans for the $2 million win included a new house, an overseas holiday and sharing some of the prize with family.
