Broome set to have a ball at Police Legacy function
Broome’s constabulary will put on an arresting night of fun and frivolities when they host their Police Legacy Ball next month.
The annual glitzy fundraiser will be held at the Sam Male room at the Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa on August 27.
This year’s theme is Arabian Nights and all proceeds will go to the Police Legacy charity.
The evening will include dinn-er, live entertainment by Blue Bone Baby, and a silent auction.
BPLB committee member Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Bradshaw said generous businesses had already donated a range of fantastic items for auction and more donations would be welcomed.
Items up for grabs include an original James Down painting, a Horizontal Falls half-day tour, accommodation at Sea Shells Resort, The Billi and the Mercure Hotel, a $1000 voucher from Allure South Sea Pearls and service vouchers and a tyre giveaway from Broome Toyota. Det. Sen. Sgt Bradshaw encouraged community members to come along to the ball and support an important cause.
“We organise the ball to provide the community with a function where they have the opportunity to raise as much money as possible for Police Legacy, which is a worthy cause,” he said.
“You do not hear much about Police Legacy, but they provide support to widows and children of policemen and policewomen who have fallen during their service to the community.
“The ball is a fantastic night out, a great way to socialise with friends and meet the local constabulary.”
Det. Sen. Sgt Bradshaw thanked other businesses who had lent their support to the event, including Printing Ideas, Broome International Airport, and Cable Beach Club Resort.
