Broome touch football season begins

Broome's touch football season started for 2014 last Thursday, with plenty of action across the four divisions.

In A-grade, Bullets' teamwork shone through in their 8-2 victory over Rubber Ducks, with the losing side suffering a rare defeat.

Outta Touch put a depleted Phoenix Flyers outfit to the sword, winning 7-2, while in the final top-flight match-up Blackoutz showcased their credential with a 10-2 victory over Wannabees.

Damien Enosa and Tori Connelly were influential for the victors.

In B-grade, Shinju Stingers won their first-ever game, beating Exploders 6-5 in a tight encounter.

Runaways' experience shone through as they beat Touchables 8-4, while Touch Ups demonstrated that they will be a real threat at this level by beating Broome Hash House Harriers 13-5.

Try Hards will be one of the frontrunners in C-grade and opened their campaign with an 8-2 victory over Just Us.

Towns FC had too much pace out wide for Kiss My Pass, winning 6-2.

Chalkies made use of their female players to rack up the two-point tries against Saints, winning 13-4.

In the Social grade, First National Rockets beat new team Untouchables 8-3, with Yohan Romani starring.

Tagnam Style continued their strong end to last season with a 6-0 win over Stingrays first time out here, while it was a clash of two new sides as That Team beat Can't Touch This 7-3.
