Committee elected at AGM before Derby game

Broome ladies' cricket club has appointed a new committee ahead of its rescheduled game against its Derby counterparts later this month.

The sport has been growing in popularity in recent years, with a structure in place to welcome new and experienced players.

At last week's annual general meeting, Tammara Olds was maintained as the association's president, with Annie Taylor and Alex Hilton elected to provide support in the joint vice-president role.

Candace Prudham is treasurer.

James Carpenter, who recently stepped down from his role of president of the Broome Cricket Association, is part of the newly formed committee to lend an experienced helping hand.

Meanwhile, Ben McInnes has taken over from his father Dan as the coach.

Ms Olds said the sport was inclusive, with those who had never played before more than welcome to give it a crack.

Training is at 4.30pm every Wednesday at Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre.

The first game is scheduled against Derby on June 14.
