Round 5 of the West Kimberley Football League saw Cable Beach, Bidyadanga Emus, Derby Tigers and Peninsula Bombers come out on top over the weekend.

Bidyadanga showed fine form during their match against the Broome Saints, thrashing their opponents 14.21 (105) to 6.5 (41).

Derby Tigers sent their visiting competitors packing when they defeated Broome Bulls 8.15 (63) to 5.4 (34).

Bulls president Wes Green said the boys put up a good effort against Tigers and he was pleased with their efforts.

Meanwhile, back on home turf, tension was high and competition fierce among Cable Beach and Towns players when they went head-to-head at Haynes Oval.

Cable Beach club president Jay Cassidy said it became a bit of a grudge match, with each side eager to make a statement and dominate, resulting in a number of yellow cards.

Cable Beach triumphed over Towns 12.16 (88) to 4.2 (26).

Cassidy said his players put together an exceptional quarter of footy and conceded Towns scored well and "took it up" to the team.

Daniel Cox, Will Crohan and CJ Oakley were best on the ground for Cable Beach.

Towns president Andrew Blackley said he was pleased with his team's performance and tenacity for three quarters of the match.

"For such a young and inexperienced team, they made Cable Beach work hard," he said.

"We're very proud of their efforts."

Peninsula Bombers proved they were no soft targets on the pitch and capitalised on their previous performance by beating Looma Eagles 13.4 (82) to 9.10 (64).
