Gang crime squad investigating after two people, including off-duty officer, assaulted by group in Carramar

The gang crime squad are investigating after two people, including an off-duty police officer, were assaulted by a group at a bar in Perth’s north. WA police said about 7.45pm on December 27 a verbal altercation broke out at a bar on Innesvale Way, Carramar. The victim — an off-duty officer aged in his 20s — attempted to intervene and was physically assaulted by a group of men. A second man — in his 40s — who also tried to render assistance, was also physically assaulted by the group. The group was ushered out of the establishment by bar staff as they continued to be verbally abusive to employees and patrons. The victims received injuries consistent with bruising and swelling.
