A woman has admitted to stealing mail while working for Australia Post after pleading guilty to several offences.

Lena Ivanoff, 35, appeared in Broome Magistrate’s Court on July 15 charged with six counts of stealing as a servant and one count of possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

Defence lawyer Gordon Bauman told the court Ms Ivanoff pleaded guilty to the six stealing charges which relate to stolen gift cards valued at a total of $395.

The charge of possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property is expected to be amended.

The matter was adjourned for six weeks while a pre-sentence report is prepared.

Ms Ivanoff was bailed and is expected to reappear in court on August 26.
