Cable Beach’s iconic sunrise was outshone as Australian Victoria’s Secret supermodel Bridget Malcolm and German super model Alena Blohm visited earlier this month.

The model citizens were involved in a photo shoot for client Seafolly with assistance from Red Sun Camel’s managing director John Geappen who provided camels to act as transport and complete the scene.

Mr Geappen said there had been previous successful photo shoots with Marie Claire magazine and he was sure producers left awestruck by Broome’s natural splendour.

“I was very pleased, they were very successful with what they wanted to do with the camels and I picked out one of the camels that is happy to walk in the water — he’s the only one that does that so they got some good shots of the camels there in the water,” he said.

“Over the two days we went out Wednesday night and Thursday morning they were very happy. It’s iconic in the western world and there’s not many places as beautiful that you can be involved in such an activity.”

“The girls were just lovely that was the nicest thing — they were very comfortable with the camels and they were the loveliest down to earth girls you would ever meet, not a problem”.

Malcolm, an Australian model who was discovered in the 2007 Vivien’s annual model search parade in Perth but now lives in New York is known for her appearances at Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2015, working with David Jones in 2011 and Polo Ralph Lauren in 2015.

Blohm, a German model who is best known for her work with Vogue Paris in 2013, Polo Ralph Lauren in 2014, Forever 21 and Joop in 2015 was featured in Schwarzkopf Treadlooks 2016 spring/summer campaign took a back seat for the photo shoot but was no less stunning.

“It’s my first time in Australia, so it’s like a really amazing experience for me to see this part because it’s not like Sydney — its more natural, riding camels and it’s just amazing,” she said.

“It’s amazing because there are so many families. It’s really homely and everyone is fishing with their sons and daughters, I love it.”

“My life could be worse I think, I can’t complain, all happy.”

Australia's North West Tourism chief executive Glen Chidlow said there was definitely something remarkable about the Kimberley environment which attracted international audiences.

“The incredible landscape of Broome and the Kimberley region attracts visitors from around Australia and the world, so it is easy to see why companies would choose to use this destination as a backdrop to their advertising campaigns,” he said.

“What better way to promote a swimwear range than using one of Australia’s most iconic beaches, Cable Beach, as the location of choice.”
