Top Broome businesses and retailers were celebrated last week when the Best of Broome Awards returned for another year.

RedFM 101.3 and Spirit 102.9 announced the 2016 winners during a glitzy black-tie event at Divers Tavern.

Now in its seventh year, the competition showcases the best that Broome has to offer by inviting listeners to vote for their favourite local restaurant, hair salon, retailer, builder and other categories across the board.

There were 20 categories this year, including a wild-card entry.

A number of former winners set the bar high again to clinch another award including Bali Hai Resort and Spa for best beauty and spa, Mollie Bean for best coffee, and Bohemia for Hair for best hair salon.

However, a number of businesses knocked others off the top spot in other categories including Dragonfly Cafe for best breakfast, The Good Cartel for best takeaway, and Fongs Store for best retailer.

Other award winners included Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventure Charters for best tours and 18 Degrees for best restaurant.

On the Lane Boutique scooped the wild-card entry.
