The anticipated WA Day Festival — which was cancelled after heavy rainfall waterlogged Burswood Park — has been rescheduled for late November.

The free event will fall on Sunday, November 24, and marks the same weekend The West Test will be held at Optus Stadium.

A 500-strong drone show, fireworks and live music will be some of the entertainment available at the Burswood precinct.

Local music acts — which have been curated by community radio station RTRFM — will also feature at the event.

Premier Roger Cook said the revamped festival would not disappoint after previously flagging its reschedule.

“While we were disappointed to see the June event cancelled, we promised we’d bring the WA Day Festival back later in the year — and we’re delivering,” he said on Thursday.

“This is the perfect way to kick off summer — a free festival showcasing the very best of WA. We live in the greatest State in the country, and this is an opportunity to celebrate everything we love about WA.”

Celebrate WA Chairman Scott Jones said free public transport would be available to attendees.

“With winter far behind us this November, we anticipate a vibrant turnout, inviting all Western Australians to partake in the essence of our State,” he said.

The June event was cancelled after 50mm of rain left Burswood Park unfit to host the event — which was set to run for two days.

Guy Sebastian, Eskimo Joe, The Waifs and Pond were set to take the stage earlier this year, but their return remains unknown.

“Perth I am gutted about this! Promise to come and see you as soon as I can. Everyone stay safe,” Sebastian wrote at the time.

Last year, festival headliner Amy Shark was forced to cancel her performance after torrential rain drenched the crowd. “Go home and get dry, I’m so sorry,” the singer told the crowd.
