VideoThe troubled former AFL champion has turned his life around.

Champion Data has created a list of the best wingmen in the AFL and you’ll never guess which Docker has snuck his way into the top five.

Data analyst Daniel Hoyne ran the rule over the competition’s best wingers with Hawk Massimo D’Ambrosio, who is averaging 20.4 disposals and 4.4 marks per game, rated as the best in the league.

Next is Sydney All-Australian Errol Gulden who continues his superb rise in the AFL but it’s the third-placed man who’s sure to raise a few eyebrows.

“Bailey Banfield’s been a really significant sort of role player for Fremantle playing that high half-forward and wing role,” Hoyne said on SEN.

Banfield is ranked third despite averaging fewer disposals and marks than Jeremy Sharp who has impressed at the Dockers with his turns of speed.

While Banfield has improved across most major stats compared to last year, most are still considered below average in the league while Sharp has been rated as elite for his kick and mark game.

Indeed Banfield is rated higher than Collingwood’s Josh Daicos and GWS’s Josh Kelly who failed to make the top five despite having better stats in every single major category.

Geelong’s Ollie Dempsey is ranked fourth while West Coast’s Jayden Hunt rounds out the top five.
