After enjoying one of their most dominant days on the sub-continent can Australia continue to grind Sri Lanka into the dust at Galle?

Follow the latest action from the First Test here!

Goodnight!

We’ll be back at the slightly earlier time of 12.15pm again tomorrow for day three.

Australia need seven wickets to wrap up the first innings and will be looking to enforce a follow on.

Until then, goodnight!

Stumps

The umpires have called stumps and we lose around 12 minutes of play.

Ingo speaks

Josh Inglis made a debut ton and is right to be a proud man.

“I don’t reckon it’s quite sunk in yet,” he said after play on day two.

“I think getting a boundary first ball is very nice. Because I’ve been around this group for a while now, it didn’t feel like too big of a jump up.

“Extra special to do it in front of my (family).

“A hundred on debut is special and I’m really happy.”

Drizzle

The covers are coming on and unlike last night, they are not happy to see them.

They are well on top of the game with Sri Lanka’s dangermen at the crease.

If they can dismiss Chandimal and Mendis it will go a long away towards wrapping up the first innings quickly.

SL 3-44

Ripper!

Lyon has his first!

Matthews tries to defend but the ball spits at his gloves and Head dives for an incredible catch.

Sri Lanka in all sorts.

SL 3-30

Hit the stumps!

Sri Lanka get a huge slice of luck!

Matthews takes a ball to the thigh that gets knocked onto leg stump by his gloves but the bail barely moves.

A big slice of luck.

SL 2-28

Another one falls!

McSweeney is on the field as a sub and takes a blinder!

Karunartne fends at a short-of-a-length ball and nicks to gully.

McSweeney palms it up and then dives behind him to complete the catch.

SL 2-20

Fernando Oshada given

Australia have their first in the second over!

Matthew Kuhnemann takes the new ball and drops a few short early but gets the wicket of Oshada.

SL 1-7

Declaration!

Starc plays a huge drive but only hits the sweeper for one and Australia have pulled the pin.

They make the second-highest total ever at Galle with 6-654.

They will have roughly 40 minutes to bowl.
