Smith and DeChambeau set for LIV Golf title battle

Cameron Smith is poised to press for his first LIV Golf individual victory since 2023, one shot behind leader Bryson DeChambeau heading into the final round in Mexico City.
Coming off his fifth-place tie at the Masters, two-time major champion DeChambeau followed his opening eight-under 63 with a 66 to get to 13-under 129 at Club de Golf Chapultepec on Saturday.
But 2022 British Open champion Smith matched his 66 with a round including an eagle and five birdies to keep the heat on.
The pair duelled while playing together on Saturday and are set to do so again.
Joaquin Nieman is two shots behind Smith in third spot after a 64 with Jon Rahm (69) a further shot back.
Relishing his first Sunday round with Smith, DeChambeau was left in awe of the Australian's silky putting on Saturday.
"It's scary when he gets on the greens," DeChambeau said.
"Whenever he gets on the greens, I'm like, well, that's a one-putt. Pretty awesome to watch him putt."
But the respect between the pair is clearly mutual. "I wish I could drive the ball like him," Smith said.
"I often wonder how much better of a golfer I would be if I could drive the ball like him." Added DeChambeau: "Playing in the final group tomorrow will be a lot of fun. We're going to go after it".
"I'm trying to win every week. Sometimes I don't bring my best game, but I'm giving it my all and attempting my best every single time I show up and put a peg in the ground.
"Tomorrow is going to be no different." Said Smith, who is playing in the final group for the first time since his 2023 win in Bedminster: "Being in contention tomorrow and today was so much fun. It's been a while for me to be at the top of the leaderboard, so I'm really enjoying it."
Former world No.2 Smith will be chasing a double victory on Sunday, with his all-Australian Ripper team leading the teams event by two shots at 24 under.
He has been well supported by Matt Jones (67) who is tied sixth at seven under, with Lucas Herbert (71, three under) tied 19th and Marc Leishman (71, two under) tied 23rd in the 55-player field.
