Matildas captain Sam Kerr and pregnant fiance Kristie Mewis arrive in Perth for Christmas
Matildas captain Sam Kerr and her pregnant fiance Kristie Mewis have touched down in Perth just in time for Christmas festivities.
The Perth-born talent and her American soccer star partner appeared carefree and casual as they arrived at Perth Airport on Wednesday afternoon following their London flight.
Sporting short leggings, a black cap, and a white crop top, Mewis proudly exposed her baby bump in WA’s summer sun.
Kerr shadowed her talented fiance, dressed comfortably in green sports shorts, a black T-shirt and white sneakers in a signature look as they lugged their suitcases across the carpark.
The 31-year-old local then accompanied Mewis, 33, to her family home as they reunited with loved ones, and grabbed a couple of iced beverages to go as they acclimatised to the Perth heat.
Later, Kerr posted a story to Instagram advising fans she was “Home”, stood at what appeared to be a jetty surrounded by canals.
Announcing the news of their pregnancy on Instagram in late November, Kerr told fans, “Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!”
The couple were seen kissing and pointing to early signs of Mewis’ growing midriff as they unveiled the life update to fans.
Going public with their relationship in 2021 following the Tokyo Olympics, Kerr proposed to her American partner in September 2023.
Last visiting Perth together in June this year, the arrival marks the couple’s third trip to WA in 12 months.
Signed to Chelsea, Kerr is recovering from an ACL injury which she sustained in January, resulting in her absence from Australia’s Paris 2024 Olympics tilt.
