Hundreds of tickets still available for Perth Wildcats’ final against South East Melbourne amid venue change

Perth Wildcats owner Mark Arena is urging fans to attend tonight’s final against South East Melbourne and not to get frustrated with the move to Perth High Performance Centre, the midweek schedule and delay in ticket sales. Less than five hours before tip-off, hundreds of seats remain available despite Perth High Performance Centre being two thirds smaller than RAC Arena. More than 13,000 fans flocked to the club’s last three matches at their traditional home, but there is a chance the attendance at Perth HPC will be less than 4000 people. Ticket sales were delayed after some members shared their codes and that posed an issue for the club. Arena said the Wildcats need as much support as possible. “There were about 1000 tickets left when we went live for public sale. Everyone has a great opportunity to turn up,’ Arena told thewest.com.au. “It’s not ideal being a Tuesday night but it’s going to be a unique experience. You’re going to be closer to the game than you have ever been and it’s probably going to be louder than you’ve ever seen at RAC Arena as well.” Arena fears anger at the move to Perth HPC following Kylie Minogue booking out RAC Arena for the week has contributed to the lack of tickets being sold. He said playing on Tuesday night had also become an issue. “I think it’s a combination of both. It’s a school night so I totally understand that,” he said. “But there is plenty of parking in the precinct. We’ve released an event guide for people who want to come to help out.” The Wildcats will win through to the semifinal series if they win tonight and those games will be played at RAC Arena. Perth are riding high on the back of Bryce Cotton winning his fifth NBL MVP award on Monday night and Arena is keen for people to make the night difficult for the Phoenix. “We want family friendly feral,” he said.
