Unbeaten Celtic stay top, Aberdeen down Rangers in SPFL
Celtic have continued their unbeaten start in the Scottish Premiership with a 2-0 win over Dundee at Celtic Park in Glasgow.
The champions scored twice in the second half through Alistair Johnson and Arne Engels' penalty to keep Brendan Rodgers' side top, with 28 points after 10 rounds.
Aberdeen also remain unbeaten in second place, on goal difference, as they rallied to a 2-1 victory over Rangers at Pittodrie.
Goals from Nicky Devlin and Shayden Morris, either side of Nedim Bajrami's equaliser for the visitors, secured the win. Jamie McGrath also had a penalty saved by Gers goalkeeper Jack Butland.
"Our guys have made a brilliant start ... in terms of how they've been playing, the goals they've been scoring, secure defensively in the main and in a really good position in the Champions League," Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said.
"But it's still so early. My first marker is after 10 games. And if I look at it after 10 games, then we've made a really good start. Aberdeen are there as well, but there's still such a long way to go.
"... That's a really good result for them. But as I'm sure you can respect, my focus is very much on Celtic."
Elsewhere, Tawanda Maswanhise's double gave Motherwell a 2-1 away win at Dundee United. His goals came either side of Sam Dalby's 36th-minute effort for the hosts, for whom former Newcastle Jets striker Apostolos Stamatelopoulos played 70 minutes.
Kilmarnock came from behind to score two second-half goals to win 2-1 against Hearts in Edinburgh.
Alan Forrest scored in the 44th minute before Matty Kennedy and Kyle Vassell sealed the turnaround.
Socceroos Kye Rowles and Cameron Devlin both started for Hearts, who remain at the foot of the 12-team table on six points, one place and a point behind city rivals Hibernian, who drew 0-0 at Josh Nisbet's Ross County.
St Mirren won 3-1 despite St Johnstone's eighth-minute goal through Benjamin Kimpioka.
Scott Tanser scored the equaliser prior to strikes from Mark O'Hara and Jonah Ayunga.
