You’ll already be following the Big Bash League this summer - so why not throw your hat in the ring for some free cash prizes while you’re at it?

The BBL finally returns on Thursday evening, and with it so does The Game’s cricket tipping that has big money prizes up for grabs.

WA resident William McCauley has already cashed in just for signing up after claiming the randomly-drawn $5,000 early sign-up prize.

“I didn’t quite believe it. I thought was a bit of a hoax, to be quite honest, with all that’s going on with phone calls at the moment,” he said.

“It’s fantastic. It will probably look after Christmas and maybe a holiday in the new year.”

There’s still a chance for you to get a holiday boost, with $1,250 up for grabs for every round’s top tipper and a massive $15,000 winner’s prize at the end of the season.

McCauley is a seasoned footy tipper, having won his local golf club’s tipping competition this year, and is eager to carry that form into the cricket season.

“I do try to keep up with things the best I can and I look at the fixtures and follow the experts,” he said.

“But I say at the end of the day, I go with my gut feel and it’s served me well.”

While McCauley was uncertain whether he can could claim the overall winner’s prize he is looking forward to the Big Bash returning.

“It’ll be a great season and I’m really looking to following along again this year,” he said.

“I think the Scorchers can go all the way again this year - they look very strong.”
