The two-hour window that ended with a deadly tasering

HOW THE NIGHT KRISTIAN WHITE TASERED CLARE NOWLAND UNFOLDED * 3.03am: 95-year-old Clare Nowland takes her four-wheeled walker out of her bedroom into the common area of Cooma's Yallambee Lodge aged-care home and proceeds to the kitchenette, where she grabs two knives and a jug of prunes * Registered nurse Rosaline Baker later coaxes Mrs Nowland out of the rooms of two aged-care residents after she raised the knives against them * After Mrs Nowland refuses to leave the room of a third resident, Mrs Baker is joined by carers Mamta Rai and Geeta Phuyal, who try to assist * 4.08am: Ms Baker leaves the room to make a triple-zero call requesting an ambulance. The operator suggests notifying police after being told about the knives * After Ms Phuyal goes to attend other residents, Mrs Nowland throws one of her knives at Ms Rai and misses * Yallambee Lodge staff lock Ms Nowland in the resident's room * 4.32am: Mrs Nowland escapes the room out a back door and makes her way to the facility's administration building * 4.37am: Ms Baker encounters Mrs Nowland in the administration building but backs away after the 95-year-old raises a knife * 4.53am: Senior Constable Kristian White, acting Sergeant Jessica Pank and paramedics Anna Hofner and Kingsley Newman meet Ms Baker in the administration building's dining area and talk about the situation before splitting up to search for Mrs Nowland * 4.58am: Mrs Nowland enters a treatment room in the administration building and sits down on a chair, holding a knife and a penlight * 5.07am: The police officers and paramedics arrive at the treatment room and begin negotiations with Mrs Nowland, asking her to drop the knife * Just before 5.09am: White pulls out his Taser before Mrs Nowland stands up and moves towards the doorway * Just before 5.10am: Sgt Pank kicks the wheels of Mrs Nowland's walker with her foot to try keep her in the room but stops when a knife is raised against her * White then fires the Taser at Mrs Nowland, who crumples over and falls backwards onto the floor * 5.10am: Ms Hofner enters the treatment room to provide medical assistance to Mrs Nowland * 5.18am: The 95-year-old is stretchered out to the ambulance before being taken to Cooma Hospital
