35-year-old man charged over alleged hit-and-run in Broome

Major crash investigators have charged a 35-year-old man after an alleged hit-and-run incident in Broome early Saturday morning. Police say a collision occurred between a white Mazda CX-5 station sedan and a pedestrian on Hamersley Street, near Short Street, about 12am on November 23. A 23-year-old woman sustained critical injuries and was flown to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. A 35-year-old man has been charged with one count of failing to stop and ensure assistance was provided after an incident causing grievous bodily harm and one count of failing to report the incident. The Bilingurr man is set to face Broome Magistrates Court on December 23.
