A last-minute storm left Perth residents scrambling on Thursday afternoon, with destructive winds ripping through the metro area, leaving a path of destruction.
The severe thunderstorm brought with it a heavy downpour of rain which flooded the streets and caused traffic chaos just before peak hour.
About 11,400 homes across Midland, Swan View, Gooseberry Hill, Kalamunda and Maida Vale were plunged into darkness when destructive winds damaged power lines.
